+ Prayer Request +

Posted on July 5th, 2008 by by Sean George

We were requested with a prayer request from some of the youth members of the Staten Island Mar Thoma Church Youth Fellowship (Staten Island, New York). The Staten Island Mar Thoma church is Geen’s, Joel’s Sean’s,Nibin’s, Jaysly’s,& Vibin’s hometown church back in New York.

One of their youth members, Mr. Arun Chacko, had gone in for a surgery for his dislocated shoulder. After surgery he had a
Anastasia Complication. Now he is going through severe pain and also he can’t breathe on his own and currently is in critical condition. We request all of you to pray for Arun and his family. Please pray that God will work a miracle in Arun and relieve everything from him because with God’s help EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE. Like it says in James 5: 15-16: And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned he will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.”

The First Ever Spring Youth Retreat of the Hermon Mar Thoma Church was held on April 4-6,2008 under the leadership of our vicar, Rev. Sam Abraham and the Youth Chaplain of the Southeast Region, Rev. Mathew Skariah. The retreat was a huge sucess. We would like to thank everyone who came out and made this event awesome. We thank Sam Achen and Skariah Achen for their leadership and all those who helped out in the retreat like chaperone’s. (We will have pictures up from the retreat soon!)

Here is a message from Skariah Achen:

Dear Sam Achen, Johnson and all the Hermons…

It was indeed a great honor to be part of the fantastic team for Jesus and His Kingdom called HMTC Youth Group. I felt as if I was at home with you guys. As I struggled with the theme, “Stand still…”, I felt God speaking to me through Moses. There were times when I was confused as to what I should bring to you..but I felt the stillness. we experienced it as a group from the days of preparing for the camp. I am sure that God has spoken through the various events of the camp…through our sharing, interaction, worship, talks and as Siby rightly put it, even through our “side conversations”.
I am thankful to God for the leadership that you have in Sam Abraham Achen .
I am so glad to have met each and every one of you….it was a great leaning experience for me. God has blessed me in my time with you.
My wife Jisha, and son Reuben shares the joy with me, though they missed the Blue Ridge Mts…when I explained how we had professional pool being played, he was begging to take him to the retreat.
We need your prayers…a lot…
In Him
Rev. Mathew Skariah (samachn )
